I have been doing this for a while now and some interesting things have "popped" up over the years but I think that one of the most interesting things for me is the fact that I am not really a Kelley but a Broddie. As shared in a previous post, my great great grandmother married Edmond Kelley after she had my great grandfather. Previous to that, they were all Broddies but changed their names once she remarried. Maybe not a big deal but it was rather ironic since I love saying to folks that I am a Kelley. Now I tell folks that I am a Kelley/Broddie, LOL.
Over the years I have found folks that others thought were lost forever. I have learned more about Virginia geography and history than I ever thought I would. I went to a place in Prince Edward Cty VA and stood on a spot that my paternal great grandmother stood on and for me, the moment was surreal. I look forward to new adventures and even greater discoveries. In learning about my family, I am also learning some interesting things about myself.
Peace and Blessings.
