I never knew that there were other verses I just thought I should ask just in case. I've never heard the others as we were barely toddlers when she taught us the song. Grandma Sadie probably thought we wouldn't be able to remember the whole thing and taught us the short version as a song to help us remember it.
Marvelous! Every time she sang us the song it would be at bedtime and as she sang every now and then she would always pat her chest and clear her throat, explaing that her voice wasn't what it used to be but, to us she sang like an angel. My youngest brother Jeffrey would always forget to put his hands together at bedtime prayers so she would remind him "Jethro, put your hands together like a little indian teepee."
Oh, yes, those were the good old days. Aren't memories wonderul.
