Thanks! I somehow lost the email you sent. I'm trying to research the Tate's who are related to me through my great grandmother.

My great-grandmothers sister was Annie Tate - who was a slave who ran away and wound up in NJ. I understand she used to spend time at the home of Hortense Ridley Tate and her husband, in New Jersey.

Have so far been completely unsuccessful finding any Tate descendants who remember Aunt Annie, or her sister Hannah (from Loudoun County VA) or my great grandmother Mariah Luella Payne Williams.
