What cemetery was her brother buried in? Most of my mom's family from PA are buried in Rolling Green, in Chester PA. In the past, most black folks were buried outside of the city limits - and many still choose to do the same.

You might want to look at some of the cemetery listings/transcriptions online.

If her married name was Jones - she may be listed as "Sarah (Sara) S. Jones.

What church did she attend in Philly? Many of the older black churches in Philly have file cabinets full of funeral programs. I just looked at a bunch of them at First African Baptist.

You may also want to contact black undertakers - quite a few of them are related (surname Hawkins) and still in business in Philly.
White funeral parlors didn't do blacks.

Her death may have been listed in the Tribune - check microfilm obits.
