Re: North Carolina Birth Records at Ancestry
In Response To: North Carolina Birth Records at Ancestry ()
Lee: I am so glad you made this post. This morning, I made a startling discovery, by checking them. I was previously married for five years to a man who was originally from Nash Co., NC. I knew his "twin" brother, and his brother who was 10 years younger, as well as both parents and paternal aunts. Imagine my surprise when I checked the NC Birth Index and found that they were not twins at all, but rather, had been born 10 months apart! They managed to carry out a lie for over 50 years, and are probably still doing so. As you can see, I am not quite speechless. Flabbergasted is more like it. Had I known back then, it would not have been a big deal. Now, it just looks like a lie the whole family perpetrated. Thank you for the information.
