According to the Afro American Newspaper dated: July 9-15, 2005, there is a Happy 100th Birthday to Ella Adene Kemp Bampfield known as "Queen for a day". She was the fourth of nine children born to Elijah and Lelia Kemp in Waynesville, N.C. on June 29, 1905. Her education included Teacher Training at Livingstone College in Salisbury, N.C.; Howard University and Cortez Petr's Business College. She had one child Adm. Dewey Dunn, now deceased. She was married to a Robert Smalls Bampfield of Beaufort, S.C., now deceased. She was a faithful member of John Wesley AMEZion Church in D.C. since 1934. To Ella Bampfield, Happy Birthday
