Hi Jay, and thanks for sharing. I will not give up, thats why I'm especially glad that this forum is here. I check it always for hints about writing and I enjoy reading others family stories. I think I have enough information to start, I also have some old photos of my father that I'm going to add. On one, he was about 5 years old. The picture was taken with his brother (ca. 1935 in Warren, Arkansas), who was younger, they were both supposed to be wearing navy uniforms, but, my dad looked like he left home without his britches! His pants were pulled wayyyyy up around his chest, he had no socks on, the bottom of his pants were cut in a 'V' shape. Had he walked through a creek, his pants would have never gotten wet. His brother was fully clothed in his uniform, holding flowers in his hand. They were standing on some grass and their background was a quilt that looked like it was thrown across a clothes line. And of course, nobody was smiling. I will also use photos of his army days and marriage photos along with some photos of 'us' me and my two brothers, my aunt, grandmother, etc. I took the notes that I had for family members from my family treemaker and made one story out of it all, it will start with information from the 1850 census regarding his (my G.G. Grandfather's) last owner, and go from there. I will stop my story with the coming to adulthood ages of his children. Then, my family treemaker information will go in along with the relationship chart. I hope to obtain more information when I get there (Next Week...YES!).
Again, thanks for responding, sharing and caring.
