What an amazing story.
Passing Strange, indeed.
I listened to the C-Span broadcast and found it extraordinary - right to the end where author Martha Sandweiss exclaims that 'Passing' typically is moving TOWARDS priveledge. Clarence King was 'Passing' in the opposite direction!
Strange, indeed!
