Also, as I researched into my own family, a family that h as been a part of Rowan County for all of their lives, I noticed too that the white people whom they have been a part of were also people who had been there since what I call since the dawn of time...and the dawm of time would mean that in Rowan, in Cabarrus, in Mecklenberg many of those whites were basically German, many of those same Germans who came from Germany, many of them settling first in Pennsylvania, during or before the American REvolution,then later heading South and settling there. I checked out Mecklenberg which plays a major part in the hsitory of N.C., and I also noticed that this part of N.C. were heavily populated with Cherokees, Catawbas, and a few more. This part of N.C. as I also found out had a lot of freed Negroes who managed, and I mean through all of the horror, they managed.
Yet, they all stayed around.
