Re: Juxtaposition: Bunche & Powell
In Response To: Juxtaposition: Bunche & Powell ()

Thanx so very much for the link to the Nobel Prize museum. Of course there would be one But I never even thought of going searching for it. I did a d/l of the article for reading later this day. I also browsed the area and was pleased to see a full section and links regarding Gabriel Mistral who won the prize for literature in 1945. More on that later.

Ralph Bunche!!!!!
Too often our heroes are placed on the shelf and their works are soon forgotten or seemingly not recalled. Thanx for pulling this up in the front memory. Actually I was thinking quietly to myself in the very recent past about Ralph Bunche and his significant contribution to world peace.

Are the issues the same, land and religion?
Is that too basic a question?

At what point did the Bunche brokered peace begin to unravel?

Is it too little too late?

What of the Bunche approach does Powell bring to the table?

What are the expectations of Powell?

What are the expectations of present U. S. policy
and what changes, if any, are forecast?

I will explore these questions with myself and hopefully with the posters/responders to this thoughtful 'parent' message.
