Another poignant story from the pen of Joseph! Thank you for sharing this. I would venture to hazard a guess that the saga portrayed in 'Imitation of Life' took place more times than we could imagine. It is likely still taking place today. Our ancestors were nothing, if not human. Unfortunately, they had a harder time cloaking their human foibles than we do today.
