Your parents' photos are beautiful. Your Mom looks like she was a tall person, from looking at her gorgeous long fingers (that I wished I had) :-)

The story is beautiful. I just have one comment. In the 2nd and 3rd paragraph, I kind of "lost" Pearl. Can't wait to see the continuation.
