Re: Received Personal Letter from the Mayor
In Response To: Received Personal Letter from the Mayor ()
Dear Regina: The personal handwritten note from Mayor Billy Earl Gray of Ridgely reminds us all that polite Southern traditions are alive and well. Handwritten notes seem to be a thing of the past. When I receive one, it always has a special meaning. I read on the net that the Mayor recently announced a grant to improve the city's Civic Center and Museum. I've worked on several revitalization projects centered on the Arts, so I appreciate his initiatives. Your articles make a direct contribution to the cultural life and history of Ridgely. No wonder he was inspired to send you a personal note. His message is also a tribute to your work as a writer. What an honor to be singled out in such a special way. Regina, you continue to inspire the Afrigeneas Writers to pen their experience and family histories. Please don't stop. Please remember to Write Away!
