Greetings Writers Forum:
Our family's story is an important chapter in the history of the Americas. Each history is very unique and defies the widely and unfortunately accepted stereotype that slavery is our only legacy. Our stories are of triumph, endurance and self help.
So when we post on Afrigeneas or the web, get published, or self-publish, our family history has informed and educated a larger audience that's interested in the African American experience.
There are many sites on the web that offer support in self-publishing. Some of us, especially during this "Family Reunion Season" want to distribute small runs of family stories at the reunion Let's face it some of them are charlatans. Therefore, I've narrowed my research to reputable sites recommended by universities and respected literary groups.
Listed below is one possible resource. I found Adlbooks from the University of Missouri. I’m not suggestion that you must use this service. However if you scroll to the bottom left of the page, there are invaluable tips on what is involved in the printing process.
Enjoy!
