Dear Forum members,

Since I posted on here and got all your wonderful, helpful responses, I have written a whole bunch of scenes. This is most odd, as I have not been able to follow up on the resources, but still, talking with you seems to have shaken things loose.

Yesterday, checking out a coffeeshop right near our house, we met four women planning "Rondo Days," a yearly celebration of the neighborhood destroyed by the 94 freeway here in St. Paul, Minn. They were chock full of other possible resources, including a book one said was published last year called, I believe, "Roots Shock," about several different African-American neighborhoods across the country destroyed by freeways. Apparantly, it happened in other places than LA and St. Paul.
Also having heard from Anita Snow, some tantalizing memories about the building of the freeway near her house, I think maybe I should post a request for memories somewhere in LA. Does anyone have any ideas of good places to put one of those ads? I know I've read that kind of thing before. And the West Adams Heritage Association has a newsletter. . .
