Can someone tell me where Chevalier de Saint-Georges, the "Black Mozart," is buried? Exactly. Merci for your kind considertion, Richard Oxman
Hello Mr. Oxman:
Although I am a great fan de Saint-George, I am not an expert on his life. Alain Guédé is the author of "Monsieur de Saint-George..." Guédé writes that Saint-George died in 1799 not far from the Palais Royale. Page 261.
Perhaps M. Guédé can tell you. If not, perhaps the Mairie de Paris at the Hotel de Ville might have that answer.
In an earlier post, I mentioned that Bertrand Delanoë, the Mayor of Paris renamed a street after Saint-George. Mayor Delanoë will always be remembered and appreciated for honoring this French/Caribbean hero.
Good luck in your research. The link to the Mairie de Paris is listed below.
