I read your article Anita and thought it was right on point. I am not surprised at some of the cynical and boorish responses you received. Many white males like to belittle or ignore the contributions of anyone to this country who was not white or male. I still remember the reaction of a white male co-worker, who was absolutely devastated when I told him David Crockett did not go down swinging at the Alamo like Walt Disney showed it. The fellow told me he would prefer to believe the Disney version. That of course is his right, even when the Disney version is not the correct one. It amused me however, to learn that my co-worker, a white male, preferred to believe Walt Disney's version of history when everyone knows Walt Disney made a career dealing in fantasy.

Please keep on doing what you are doing because what you do and write is far more important than the ideological critics who belittle your efforts.
