Help!

I've been researching and interviewing for years and want to write a family history. I churned out one of those 'books' using FTM but it's soooo dry and I want to do more. The problem is that most of what I have is just facts and my attempts to weave them all together reads more like fiction.

Any suggestions how I can make what I have more readable?
