I think the easiest way to start writing is to start keeping a journal. It's been about 20 years since I've started and it's a good way to keep track of events in your day-to-day life. These things may seem mundane to you but your kids and grandkids may enjoy reading about you years from now. And looking back over it yourself can be interesting.
You don't need any fancy, hardcover, $18 journal book to start. Just go to any store and buy a regular spiral notebook. Turn to the first page and write the date and then write ANYTHING. Even if its just one sentence. May you'll write "I'm starting this journal today but I don't know what to write. So I'll try again tomorrow." Thats fine ...cause its a start. Give it a try?
