You have some incredible documents (transcripts).

I would leave them 'as is', and of course - cite the sources. Then I would provide 'comments' in your voice. The reader will ultimately be relying on you to 'guide' them through the maize.

And that's how I see this forum helping us; making sure our 'voices' are literate and publish-able.
