Congratulations on getting started writing it all down. You may want to consider as a near the beginning a section called "How Are We Kin?" and include the the two furtherest back ancestors and show the relationship down to say the sixth generation. Many of the genealogy programs will allow you to do that.
When I began pulling my family history I often heard the statement " I know that we are kin; but I do not know what makes us kin." So my first chapter begins with the question "How Are We Kin?"
and the chapter details the relationships.
