Thanks everyone for the kind words. I used . . . ta-da . . . plain ole Microsoft Publisher! I started with two templates that I downloaded from the Microsoft website. I used one template virtually unchanged for the Edwards newsletter but doctored the other considerably (layout, fonts, etc) for the Norris newsletter. I used the Adobe online service to convert file into PDF.
If anyone's interested, let's take the discussion to the Writer's Forum. I'd like to see what everyone else is doing as well.
We can also talk about creating websites. There are so many outstanding ones. Mel's, Doll's, etc. What are you using to create them? What about photo albums and galleries, event calendars, etc?
