Family History as told by Nay

I am happy to announce that I have published 3 articles in the Afro-American Historical & Genealogy Society's bi monthly newsletter. This is my first attempts at putting my research down on paper in an organized format. (1) An article on my grandparents, "Antonio and Everliner arrived by ship" was published in the September-October issue. It described their travel by ship, Antonio Gomes from Matta, Brava, Cape Verde Islands , a Portugal colony and Everline Parrish from Savannah, GA. (2) "Negro Education in Bulloch COunty" was printed in the March-April 2005 issue. It describes the story of the dedication of former slaves establishing community and family schools in shanties and church building during reconstruction. (3) "The Hanging of Giles Good," my 3rd great grandfather, Giles Good with 4 other men, in YOrk County, South Carolina. It describes the circumstances and hanging of 5 men at one time. This article will be published in the May-June issue.
