Kweenganayohweh chi,
The fact that you were told that you cannot safely go into that village should have been a clear indicator that there was a whopper of a story being told to you! Myth doesn't even come close to what my people have had to endure throughout time. So many have profitted from this larger than life story over the years. It has served all but my people. If you lived in a small community that had withstood tortures from outsiders for 500 years, you would be scarred and your soul would bleed. However, as testimony to a brilliant and resiliant beautiful, spiritual, traditional people, who know who they are, and more importantly from where they came,we still survive! We are still the same hospitable people who shared what little we had with all who are in need. This may still be our demise, however, it is our way.
