I just found this site today, I am so glad, I have been looking since July for current information about the Ramapough mountain indians. This has been a very strong quest that began in a strange way. I had a dream about my grandmother, I got up that morning and thought of everything I ever knew about her. I had heard she was Ramapough,I don't know if it's true. I got on the internet and began to look for information. A few weeks later my niece was born. It turns out the dream I had was on my grandmothers birthday and my niece was born on her death day. I remember driving rt 17 so many times and having a strong pull in me while going though the mountains. It is almost unexplainable. I feel a very strong connection with everything I have read but I have no way to verify my roots. I plan a trip to the area in the spring. Hillburn was mentioned but what about Greenwood lake area. I know my grandmothers lived there at some point. I would love to know more places to visit. Any other suggestions. Also is there anywhere to go to find out other surnames that are Ramapough?
