Starting a new research project...
Hello,
I am new here, but I have been researching my family history for the better part of three years. My mother's family is Choctaw Freedman; however, much of the stories and names have been lost. I am working on a project to help resolve this; you may be interested in it.
What I am planning on doing is forming a research team to help trove the records archives, conduct interviews, and search family records in order to not only research my family, but ultimately, to create a pool of genealogical information that would be freely available for descendants of Freedman, those of African-Irish ancestry, and other adjacent and related families. With my family, with each and every generation, more of our past is lost, and I imagine that it's the same way with your families. It's important to me that we hold on to what is important.

Even if you choose not to participate, you can still spread the word to others. I appreciate your patience in this matter.
Sincerely,
Frederick Reese.
