Greetings Anna: You wrote about the absence of information about the fate of African ancestored people during the Holocaust in WWII Europe. You'll find many postings about how these people suffered under Nazi oppression right here on the pages of AfriGeneas. These postings span many of the Forums and also on the AfriGeneas mailing list. Please use the search options for both AfriGeneas and the mailing list at the Search menu at the top of the page. The results of your search will produce excellent scholarly documentation from Howard University's Symposium on the Holocaust and its black victims to the torture and murder of American black soldiers, to the US Holocaust Museum's website presenting black victims of the Holocaust, to the Library of Congress' feature on Afro-German and former editor of Ebony Magazine, Hans Massaquoi...and many more. If you are looking for more history on African ancestored people in Europe, please let me know. It's a subject that I've been researching for some time. My family and I lived in Europe and Germany and we count as friends some survivors of the awful Nazi Holocaust. Anna, one clarification. You wrote "...during the war but not one time did I hear about the African American Germans were in there too." I believe that you meant black or African ancestored Germans in the above sentence. Also African Americans also suffered there too. The postings that I mentioned on the AfriGeneas pages include Blacks from many countries who suffered under the Nazi reign of terror. Regards, K Wyer Lane
