Everyone keeps saying Marianne is French? Is that meant to suggest that there is no color discrimination in France? There are no actresses of color in france who have achieved star status. They don't get work, and the problem is so profound that france is debating the necesssity of a program called 'positive discrimination' in order to allow its minorities to integrate in areas traditionally reserved for the 'white' French.

When was the last time you saw a 'mixed' French actress in a principal role in a French film? doesn't exist. So let's stop pretending that france is some kind of racial 'haven' where color is
not an issue. I am a black American who lives in France, and I can tell you that it is simply not the case. Invisibility is the greatest form of discrimination.
