English Perspective of Garrett Morgan
Cheers Afrigeneas World Researchers:
The Science Museum in London got it right. It's on-line exhibition of the life of Garrett Morgan is amazing. You will never look at a sewing machine or traffic light the same way again. If you threw out your straightening comb, make sure you thank Garrett Morgan for his invention.
If you are not from Cleveland Ohio and its environs, you will never ever smirk and describe a man in a double knit waffle weave suit as "dressed in a 'full cleveland'". (wink)
Born in Paris Kentucky, Morgan moved to Cleveland in 1901. Read about his many inventions including his foremost, the Safety Hood which won him the "Carnegie Medal and a gold Medal of Bravery by the City of Cleveland."
Many thanks to the Science Museum of London for reminding its visitors that African-Americans did more than contribute to basketball and record sales.
