I hope that the title caught your eye. I was researching the life of my great uncle John Paul and his friend Arthur Briggs, both members of the Will Marion Cook's legendary Southern Syncopated Orchestra. I found an intriguing story of Roy Butler, a Native Son of Richmond Indiana.

I knew of the terror and hardship that African-Americans suffered in Europe during the WW II, but never connected South East Asia to the black experience.
