Re: African Catholic Ancestry
![]() In Response To: African Catholic Ancestry
() Hello and thanks for your postings! I am a bit puzzled by the Raleigh posting. I visited the page and entered African but all listing referred to African-American Catholics. We are as indigenous to America as Baptists and other Protestant religions. How many of our parents had a statue of St. Martin de Porres on the dashboard of their car? (wink) Indeed there were and are African Catholics. Three Catholic Popes pre-dated Islam (600 AD). I posted a message when Afrigeneas began the World Forum: http://afrigeneas.com/forum-world/index.cgi?read=4 Please read the thread, it is quite interesting. Listed below is the original site that presents the three African Popes and African-Europeans in history. It's chock full of information about the presence and contributions of people of African descent in Europe. Thanks again for your posting. It inspired me to re-visit the site and read this fascinating chronicle. K Wyer Lane
