Here is an interesting tale (but true). When I was 64 I sent to New York for my birth certificate for retirement reasons. When I got it I found out that I had been registered as "white"!!! After living 64 years and seeing an African American in the mirror I was what!!! It seems that the doctor who delivered me and many of my cousins put that misinformation on our birth certificates for reasons of his own with out telling the family. We may be light and bright but we sure aint white. We still lalugh about it. I would like to find the decendants of my Grandmothers brother (Joseph Miller). He walked away from the family including his wife and 2 children in the early 1900's and crossed over to the white world never to be heard from again. At the time he left he was living in Springfied MA.
