I am very saddened that the original NET Noir no longer exists. It was definitely the most well-organized and managed chat rooms for African-Americans anywhere on the net. It offered the opportunity for intense discussion or casual conversation...I loved the opportunity to bounce from room to room. I loved the discussions of current events, the advice that we all gave to each other, the differences of opinion, even the love relationships and marriages that emerged. When the Net Noir went away, I was saddened. I honestly felt as if AOL was deliberately stopping the opportunity for connections and open discussions, etc...in a way that only our Black culture prepares us for... and replacing it with chat rooms that seem to aim at attracting and retaining sexually explicit conversation. I am saddened... I miss the old NET NOIR and perhaps one day will host a netnoir reunion... We have earned that... Our people are separated too much in this mainstream world and forced into submission... once again..
