Re: African American DNA "Roots Project"
In Response To: African American DNA "Roots Project" ()
Dear Mr Stevenson, Yes it would change my fews in a very personal way. I would like to know my race for (where I come from and what I am) reasons. Who are my ancesters and what where their world achievements as a country or race. As far as I know, DNA can narrow ones race down to a country or region. Right now we are categorized as being from a Continent and a not Country. Africa is a very large continent with a lot of countries and races within. Like Europe, Asia and so forth. Instead of saying I am Afro-American, or Black. I would like to be able to say that I either Ethiopian, Egyption, Kenyan, and so forth - "Amerian". All these countries have there own cultures and people within a continent. Like Europe with its Germans, Swedes, Swiss and so forth. That would be my only reason. The Germany or Swedes and so forth do not say that they are Euro-American, they specify a Country then add American to a their respective ancestrial Country which in my oppinion is correct. Due to the events of our history, that privilege or right has been stripped from us, I believe that if its all possible for science to set this straight then by all means, please do without any political road blocks. Thank you
