I have been researcing my family for the last year. I never thought about how much work it is!!! Whew!!! nevertheless it is a labor of love. I am stuck. I have reached a brick wall at 1870. I have looked at every website I know of and even found some new ones. I have visited the LDS family research center in my area.
I've read a few slave narratives and some probate info. I can't seem to find out how my family got it's name or who the slaveholder was. I even found a derivative of the name in Ireland. I've done everything short of going to Alabama to do hands on research. Please give me some guidance. Where do I go next.
