Re: Wagon Trains to California????
In Response To: Re: Wagon Trains to California???? (Allen L. Lee)
Hello Allen, Yep, still researching that "Adams" ancestor who made it to California. We've tracked William Adams to Sacramento, CA via Census records, City Directories, Newspaper articales and a burial record. this is thanks to some CA friends here on AfriGeneas (E.T., Wm. Carson & Mrs. Mary Thames) We've even found a record (City Directory) that indicates his brother, David Adams, was in Sacramento, CA as of 1861. His, the brother, being in CA was also part of the family oral history. AND we find a nephew of the two of them, Robert Reno, located in Cache Creek, Yolo Co., CA in the 1870 Census. Robert dies sometime between 1910 & 1920 while living in Oakland, CA with his wife Henrietta. Also found are Lost Funds Claims in the Oakland Tribune for Robert Reno ca 1917. Now, if we can just find out HOW & WHEN they got to CA. Thanks for all of your help too,
