Wallace, Daniel Webster “80 John”.

African American cowboy and rancher. Wallace worked for several ranchers in east-central Texas and took his nickname “80 John” from the cattleman John Nunn’s brand, a large number 80. Known for his honesty and work ethic, Wallace demonstrated much business savvy as a wrangler and horse breaker. On his death he had an estate worth more than 1 million dollars.
Birth: September 15, 1860 in Victoria County, Texas
Death: March 28, 1939
