This is not the board I ever suspected I would be posting in. Yet here I am.

I am in the process of finding out all of the information that I can about my Washington family. Having said that, as to date, I have been able to trace three of my ancestor Scott Washington's children to Muskogee County, OK. From what I've read so far, it was a place where many African-Americans went to as part of the "Great Migration". Can anyone direct me to any resources that would give me a history of African-American Muskogee county, OK.? I'm very interested in knowing why they may have moved to the area.
