March 26, Leidesdorff Day is celebrated with installation of signs on U.S. Hwy 50, William Alexander Leidesdorff, Jr. Memorial Highway.

A Maritime Pioneer, City Treasurer and Black Farmer,
Leidesdorff was the first U.S. Black Millionaire.

In April of 1848, as President of the School Board in San Francisco, Leidesdorff he opened the first Public School in California.

Leidesdorff Ranch was a contracted supplier of cattle, wheat,
fruits and vegetables for the U.S. Government.

The Golden Legacy of William Alexander Leidesdorff, Jr.,
a limited edition publication, scheduled release is May 2005
for rededication of Leidesdorff Plaza, Historic Folsom, CA.

Celebrate Leidesdorff Day 2005, as you drive along the scenic
