Thank you all so much for your kind words regarding the Riversider website. Our story is not African American History, rather, it is the story of African Americans in History.

I was speaking with an individual today who mentioned he was told affirmative action was reverse discrimination. I told him that statement would be absolutely true if we were playing on a level playing field, however, because we are not, the reverse discrimination theory has no merit. This conversation was just another indication of how much work still needs to be done.

We must never stop telling the story of the "unsung heroes" in our families, communities and beyond. If we don't do it, who will?
