Clark was York's owner, however, I am not sure about York's treatment. As you can see those narratives are somewhat contradictory, and is the reason I posted the five.

I have read other reports stating that York had a much better relationship with the various tribes than other members of the expedition. I don't think the posted narratives really bring that out. All of this should lead to a great discussion.
