Let me add my congrats to the growing list. Though I have no Western ancestors that I know of yet, I have always been fascinated with glimpses into the lives of those who helped shape those areas.

Recently got back from a trip to Los Angeles - and got to visit the downtown area by Olvera Street where there is a plaque naming the city founders. It was really interesting to see the names listed there - and the detail of their heritage - blacks and mulattos.
