Mark Matthews Passes - Tuesday, September 13, 2005 at 23:09
On Tuesday, September 6, 2005 Mark Matthews our nation's oldest living Buffalo Soldier, passed at Holy Cross Hospital, Silver Spring, Maryland. He was 111 years old and lived with his family members in Washington, D.C. There will a public ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery at 1:00 P.M. at the grave site.
Funeral arrangements are as follows:
Sunday September 18, 2005, viewing will be conducted at Trinity AME Zion Church 3505 16th Street N.W Washington, D.C. from 4 to 7 P.M.-Pastor William E. Kelly will be in attendance.
Monday September 19, 2005, a final viewing will be conducted at the church from 9 to 10 A.M. followed by a 10:00 service by Pastor William E. Kelly
Monday after the church service participants to Arlington National Cemetery- Vehicles to leave the church and report to the Administration office at the cemetery by 12: 30 P.M. and gather to be led together to the site for a 1:00 P.M. for a full military honor ceremony
