I thought I'd send you these links about Flemish artist Peter Paul Rubens(1577-1649). The artpiece, "Four Negro Heads" was based on the study of a Black sailor. The article stated that the artpiece was also used on Belguim currency. You may already be familiar with it, but it is another piece of coincidental education I obtained while looking for something else.
