Last year, I attended the first presentation of Trail and Tribulations, a historical program on September 18 and 19, 2009 in Oakland, Illinois about the 1847 Matson Slave Trial.
This year, I am one of the coordinators for the program which will be presented on September 16, 17, and 18, 2010. I am coordinating a reenactment of Brushy Fork that existed in Coles County, Illinois prior to, and after, the Civil War. Brushy Fork was the local free black community.
