Art:
This is new for me. Where would I begin my search to confirm the family stories about the UGRR?

Thank you.
======================================

A 'quick' easy read on the UGRR is found at: http://history.howstuffworks.com/american-civil-war/underground-railroad7.htm

On how to confirm your family stories some things to consider:

Time Period - When was your family said to be active in the UGGR?

Where were they said to be active? State(s)....Home? Church?

Was there a 'suspected' UGRR operation in the area?

Remember the UGRR was said to be a secret operation and few 'official' records were kept. Learn as much as you can about the area where your family lived and the conditions that might have directed them to become involved.

Good Luck and Best Wishes
