Crucifixion Church Railroad?
By:Stacey Adger <Show E-Mail>

Looking for anyone with information or knowledge of what role, if any, that the Church of the Crucifixion in Philadelphia played in the Underground Railroad. While researching my Adger family, I ran across the Church. I spoke to the Priest in Charge who states that there are tunnels under the edifice which may lead to Mother Bethel (another church) and the direction of the Delaware River. He is blessed to have contact with some of the older members of the once thriving church who remember playing in the tunnels under the building. Several prominent abolitionists were active in that region of the city.
