Thanks Art, and I will keep following all the leads. I will keep you posted as to what I find. I think alot of people have interpreted the statue part of the story as a lawn jockey, which is problematic, but it is the foundation of the story - that Elizabeth Piatt was an UGRR agent while her husband was in a position to rule in cases related to the Fugitive Slave Act that I am truly interested in. The oral tradition, so to speak, relates only to Elizabeth's activities, but I need to see some actual documentation, not just *tradition*. Someone must have this, or there wouldn't be a marker at the homesite, would there be?
