I am a genealogist and while researching my family was asked by some friends at work if I would help with theirs. In doing this I checked on line for some Indiana history. It turns out a number of my ancestors were involved in the Underground Railroad in Southern Indiana near the little town of Lancaster, in Jefferson County. Lyman Hoyt was involved in the Neil's Creek anti-slavery Baptist Church and Neil's Creek anti-slavery society also he was involved in forming the Liberty Party for the abolition of Slavery. The College that was formed there was one of the first to admit all races and genders in the area. There is quite a bit on line about this and some names are in the books they sell at the college.
