Re: Nutter Brothers and UGR
In Response To: Nutter Brothers and UGR ()

It was very interesting and enlightening to read of the Nutter Bros. and their UGR involvement in the WV area.

While I'm not sure if there is a connection, there were Nutter's involved with the UGR in the Clark/Greene county areas of Ohio.
Abraham "Abe" Nutter and his brother Henry are documented as being participants in the UGR with the "Springfield UGRR Assoc", this group wasn't written about until ca 1896 in an article found in the booklet "Sketches of Yester Year, Springfield, Ohio".

Abe is also documentented as having fought in the Civil War...5th USCT and he is buried in Soldier's Mound..Ferncliff Cemetery In Springfield, Ohio.

If you need/want more information on these Nutter's please contact me.They are part of my collateral family lines.
